  • Make your choice, order, and track your order. Many of you must know these steps to eat without going anywhere, then, you must know Uber Eat. This famous delivery service of cooked dish was created in 2014 in San Francisco by Travis Kalanick and Garrett Camp. It all started with UberFRESH, a one-week experiment in Santa Monica, and as you will have understood, this experiment never ended.
  • Impossible to dissociate crispy chicken and KFC. Kentucky Fried Chicken is an American catering chain created by Colonel Harland Sanders. In 1940 the Colonel perfects its blend of 11 spices, which is still secret today. And it is in 1952 that the first franchise opened in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Objective / insight
  • Can you imagine that you order a meal, and your deliverer comes on a Batmobile? You are not dreaming, it happened to some inhabitants of London when they ordered a meal from KFC to Uber Eat. They were surprised to be delivered with iconic vehicles such as the Batmobile of Batman, the Aston Martin DB5 of James Bond or the Ecto-1 of Ghostbuster. However, these cars have not been selected by hazard, but Uber Eat realized a survey to approximatively 2,000 Londoners last month to have the best and emblematic cars in cinema. In this survey, Uber Eat included different cars from cinema and the 1981 DeLorean DMC-12 from the Back to the Future trilogy was at the top of the list. But bad luck for fans, it is forbidden to fly in the streets.
Implemented strategy
  • Behind it, hides a marketing strategy imagined by Uber Eat in collaboration with KFC. Those lucky enough to be delivered with these iconic cars had ordered KFC’s new popcorn chicken, the Zinger Popcorn Bucket. And for each order of this new chicken popcorn, Uber Eat decided to deliver in Batmobile, Aston Martin DB5 or in Ecto-1 for a limited time, only during the 4th of October.
Technology implemented
  • There is no technology implemented apart from the use of the Uber Eat online service platform.
